Update - August 29, 2019 Warren on hold again – Judge prohibits the city from issuing dispensary licenses

Warren's Newest Licensing Hold

The City of Warren may be going back to the drawing board when it comes to marijuana dispensaries.  A judge ordered yesterday, August 28, for the city to halt their licensing process after a lawsuit was filed by an attorney representing applicant DNVK4.  The lawsuit alleges city officials violated the Michigan Open Meetings Act by holding secret meetings to interview applicants for Warren’s coveted Medical Marijuana Provisioning Center permits.

If the court finds that the City did violate the Act, this could mean the city starting over with public meetings to approve applicants or could even go as far as forcing the City to change their application process as a whole.
